Flower Tour in Parque Arví and Fincas Silleteras

The silleteros are the farmers who keep alive the centuries-old tradition of flower cultivation. They personify the figure of the muleteers who, on muleback, penetrated and managed to dominate the rugged mountains of Antioquia, to found what is known as the Paisa culture.

The main event that celebrates the paisa identity in Medellín is the Silleteros Parade, which takes place every August 7, when these representatives of the cultural heritage exhibit their best floral arrangements before the thousands of people who gather around them. The Silleteros and Flowers Tour in Santa Elena is the opportunity to meet directly with the silleteros and share with them, at any time of the year. In addition, this tour will give you a better understanding of what it means to be paisa and you will be able to observe and participate in the process of making a silleta.
